RACE DAY EVENTS! – Monday, May 17 Team Swift Fundraiser Ride – leaves at 10am To celebrate the upcoming Amgen Tour of California stage race this is coming to Santa Rosa on Monday the 17th of May, we are pleased to announce a special fundraiser ride to benefit All Sport Team Swift Junior Cycling Development Program. This special ride is being lead by Giana Roberge of Team Speed Queen, a Santa Rosa resident and World Masters Time Trial Champion. The ride is being presented by two of our leading local bike shops, West County Revolution Bike Shop of Sebastopol and Echelon Cycle & Multisport of Santa Rosa. Rose Parade Floats and Marching Band – 11:00-11:45am This years event takes place on May 15 with a theme of “Rose Pedals” so what a better way to open our Santa Rosa Tour of California than with a parade and marching band. Moving West on 4th Street to B Street, south to 3rd Street, east on 3rd Street in front of the finish line stage. The band will then play a few numbers in front of the finish line stage. Santa Rosa Festival – 11am-4pm Beer Garden, booths, music, and fun on Third Street between D and E Streets. Lifestyle Festival – 11am-4pm The MBT Lifestyle Festival, located in Courthouse Square is the place to be for all cycling enthusiasts. The festival will feature a health & fitness expo, cancer awareness education, cycling gear, family activities, bike safety, food, entertainment and more! There will be plenty to see and do for everyone in your family! Wine Country Radio Anthem Contest Singer – 12:00-12:15pm Takes place on the announcer’s stage. Crowd around and listen up! Pre-Finish Elected Officials Commute Course - 12:45-1:30pm Riding adult-sized three-wheel cycles, Santa Rosa City Council members and County of Sonoma Supervisors will attempt to get from “home” to “work” while encountering typical obstacles – everything from a kid with a cold, to a long line at the coffee shop, to lobbyists, etc. In honor of National Bike Month and Bike to Work Day (May 13th), the course will demonstrate, in a lighthearted way, the benefits of biking to work. This event is organized by Sonoma County Bicycle Coalition and The Imaginists Theatre Collective and its Youth Ensemble. Takes place at the Finish Line Stage, Third Street and Santa Rosa Avenue. After Party - right after the race and through the night! Join the crowd for an after party on Fourth Street beginning right after the race! The party will feature entertainment, delicious food and drink, and an opportunity to celebrate the Tour of California. Don’t miss happy hour!
